My Grace is Sufficient.... The cartoon depicts two arm wrestlers, the world would tell us we need to be like the guy on the left if we are to win in life.....but God much prefers to choose weakness to display His power in the lives of His people.... Today the world chases after the rich and powerful, even childrens toys exalt the powerful and strong.....but in God's Kingdom all this is turned upside down.... The Apostle Paul was a man who was very gifted.....but for the Lord to use him, He had to teach him His power was made perfect through weakness.....and so Paul had come to a place in his life where he rejoiced in those weaknesses, he knew then Christ's power may rest on him. He had realised that when he was weak he was actually strong. When we read the Bible we see many examples of this - David and Goliath, Gideon's small army, Elijah the Prophet......but what about Samson? Most people seem to think Samson was a man of great physique....but the Bible actually gives us a clue about Samson's strength, Judges 16:4 The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so that we may tie him up and subdue him. Obviously Samson's strength could not be seen in his muscles. The Philistines had to ask Delilah where the secret of his strength was.....but Samson's power came from God and as long as Samson walked in obedience, God's power would be made manifest when needed. If we are weak and insignificant in the eyes of the world - we can take courage from the fact if our trust and faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ....God can take our weakness...and turn it into an opportunity to display His power.
