My thanks to Susan Smith from Charlotte, NC, USA. Who shared with me how the youth Pastor at her church has recently been teaching the young people about "Diving" into God's word the Bible. I include here part of what Susan shared: "Our Youth pastor compared diving into God's word and discovering unseen treasures to snorkeling. He and his wife and daughter (then 5) snorkeled in Hawaii a couple of years ago.......and they absolutely fell in love with the sea. Pastor Daryl said, "You can't know what's beneath the surface until you put your mask on and look beneath the surface. The deeper you go, the more you discover. And you'll never see it all...the depths are boundless." He was really encouraging us to DIVE IN! He made reference to a particular incident when the three of them found themselves surrounded by a gigantic school of tropical fish...yellow with blue stripes. They were in absolute awe at what they saw. Now he wants to scuba dive and go deeper." As I thought about what Susan shared I explored the underwater theme in the picture above. A school of Angel fish with yellow and blue stripes are inquisitively gathering round. An anchor is firmly fastened round the Bible the Word of God which is the rock that secures the ship from drifting. We are just like ships with the potential to drift and get shipwrecked. Unless we go deep into the Word of God we may not be firmly fastened when the storms of life appear. The Bible will keep us anchored if we hold on to it and obey it's teaching, we will discover real treasure which will set us up for life, and most of all make us wise to Salvation.
